Behind The Business is a boutique systems practice for founders who became the only person who knows how everything works. I architect, build, and run the backend behind the business: CRM, workflows, automations, integrations — designed around how you actually operate, owned long after launch.
My work focuses on the operational backend. I don't sell strategy. I don't teach founders how to scale or grow their business. I build the systems that support how the business runs day to day, so the founder can spend their attention on the parts of the work only they can do.
I work with a small number of scaling founders at a time. Engagements typically span six to twelve months. The work is structured around three movements: an audit of what's holding the business together right now, a build that replaces the parts that are quietly costing you, and a run phase where I stay in the system long enough to make sure it survives without me.
I started this practice because most operations work treats the founder as an end user. They drop a tool, hand over an SOP, and call it done. The system breaks the moment the business shifts, because nothing was designed around how the founder actually thinks. My work starts the other way around: understand the business first, build to fit, own what gets built.
Behind The Business is the practice I built around a specific founder I kept meeting. They started a business doing the thing they were great at. Somewhere along the way they became the person running all the systems behind it: client data in their head, project status in scattered tools, the operations layer running because they remember every detail.
The work most operations firms do treats this as a tooling problem. New CRM. New project tool. New SOPs. The founder still ends up holding the weight, because nothing was designed around how they actually run the business.
I built this practice to do the opposite. Understand the founder first. Build the backend around how they think and operate. Then stay long enough to make sure it survives the next quarter, the next hire, the next growth spike.
